Insulin

Insulin

Used for the quantitative determination of Insulin in human serum via electrochemiluminescent immunoassay on the Roche Cobas analytics system.

Instrument: Roche Cobas

Specimen Type: Serum

NOTE: Unable to report results for hemolyzed specimens.

Volume per test: 100uL (min volume 200uL)

Principle:

The total duration of this sandwich principle assay is 18 minutes.

First incubation: 20uL of sample, a biotinylated insulin-specific antibody, and a monoclonal insulin-specific antibody labeled with ruthenium react to form a complex.

Second incubation: After addition of streptavidin-coated microparticles, the complex becomes bound to the solid phase via interaction of biotin and streptavidin.

The reaction mixture is aspirated into the measuring cell where the microparticles are magnetically captured onto the surface of the electrode. Unbound substances are removed with ProCell M. Application of a voltage to the electrode induces chemiluminescent emission which is measured by a photo multiplier.

Testing Range: 1.39-6945 pmol/L
