Growth Differentiation Factor 15 (GDF-15)

Growth Differentiation Factor 15 (GDF-15)

Used for the determination of GDF-15 concentration in human serum using R&D Quantikine ELISA (DG150).

Instrument: Manual assay

Specimen Type: Serum

Volume per test: 2 x 50uL (min volume 200uL)

Principle:

This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GDF-15 is precoated onto the microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any GDF-15 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After washing away unbound substances, an enzyme-linked polyclonal antibody specific for human GDF-15 is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound antibody-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and colour develops in proportion to the amount of GDF-15 bound in the initial step. Colour development is stopped and the intensity of the colour is measured.

Testing Range: 23.4-1500 pg/mL
