Creatinine (Serum)-Roche Modular
Used for the quantitative determination of creatinine in human serum via kinetic colorimetric assay on the Modular automated analyzer.
Instrument: Roche Modular (P800)
Specimen Type: Serum
Volume per test: 2uL (min volume 125uL)
Principle:
This kinetic colorimetric assay consists of two steps:
Step 1: specimen + R1 (sodium hydroxide 0.20 mol/L)
Step 2: addition of R2 (picric acid 25 mmol/L)
In alkaline solution, creatinine complexes with picrate to form a yellow-orange product. The rate of colour formation is proportional to the creatinine concentration in the specimen. The assay uses “rate-blanking” to minimize interference by bilirubin. To correct for non-specific reaction caused by serum/plasma pseudo-creatinine chromogens, including proteins and ketones, the results for serum or plasma are corrected by -26μmol/L (-0.3 mg/dL).
Testing Range: 18-2210 umol/L
