Total PSA Architect i1000SR

Total PSA Architect i1000SR

Used for the quantitative determination of Total PSA in human serum via chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) on the Architect i1000SR automated analyzer.

Instrument: Architect i1000SR

Specimen Type: Serum

Volume per test: 50µL (min volume 150µL)

Principle:

The total PSA assay is a two-step immunoassay to determine the prescence of total PSA (both free PSA and PSA complexed to alpha-1-antichymotrypsin) in human serum, using CMIA technology. First, specimen and anti-PSA coated paramagnetic microparticles are combined. PSA present in the sample binds to the anti-PSA coated microparticles. After washing, anti-PSA acridinium-labeled conjugate is added in the second step. Pre-Trigger and Trigger solutions are then added to the reaction mixture; the resulting chemiluminescent reaction is measured as relative light units (RLUs). A direct relationship exists between the amount of total PSA in the sample and the RLUs detected by the Architect.

Testing Range: 0.05-100 µg/L
